Spray Tan Prep
Beauty Services - Schedule hair services before tanning, or after initial post-tan rinse. Schedule nails, waxing, massages and facials 48 hours before your tan, so no residue or oils compromise your spray tan.
Shave & Exfoliate - Shave and Exfoliate with a spa grade exfoliator one day prior to tanning.
Hydrate - Hydration is key to tan longevity. Drink plenty of water and moisturize several times a day.
Arrive with Clean Skin - Arrive to appointment with skin free of makeup, lotion, perfume, or deodorant. If you have to shower day of, please do so at least 5 hours before appointment.
Wear Loose Dark Clothing - Bring loose, dark colored clothing to dress in after appointment and a pair of flip flops. Avoid leggings, close-toed shoes, bras, and other restrictive clothing.
Spray Tan Care
Avoid Water & Skin to Skin Contact - During developing time avoid sweating and water exposure. Refrain from touching or scratching body until your instructed shower time.
Shower - Shower at your designated shower time. 8 hours for a Classic Tan and somewhere between 2-4 hours for a Rapid Tan. Do not use soap or shampoo. Just rinse off the cosmetic bronzer. Pat your body dry with a towel. Do not rub dry with a towel. Next shower you can return to your normal routine.
Products - Use spray tan friendly body washes and moisturizers. Moisturize daily. Avoid lotions with strong fragrances, as they tend to strip your tan. Use Tan Extend to prolong your tan. It is a moisturizer that contains DHA to help maintain your glow.
Sunblock - Always wear sunblock to protect your skin from the sun. Choose a zinc oxide or titanium dioxide sunblock. (Coola Suncare, Color Science, Babyganics & Alba Botanicals.) Choose a non-aerosol sunblock that is oil-free and does not contain oxybenzone.
Fading - Tans typically last 7-10 days. To prolong your tan avoid excessive shaving and sweating, hot showers, baths, saunas, swimming in saltwater and chlorine. Tan Extend will help prolong your tan on vacation as well.
